Orientation Day

The good thing about traveling all night long and then keeping busy the following day is that you sleep really well!

Even in bunkbeds with a mattress you could pave a road with...

With a good nights sleep we started the day with a good breakfast, well good if you like yogurt so Stine had a rough time of it - luckily the fresh pineapple and mango is muy delisioso!

Orientation included a walk around Cartago - to the famous Basilica of Cartago - home of La Negrita

The Church has a natural spring and pilgrims come from all over Costa Rica to get the water, using it to heal what ails them - the people in this picture drove from over 5 hours away to collect a few bottles:

Overall the kids did a really good job sitting and listening for 2 hours while the Country Director Jose told us more about the rules other details needed to make living with 30 or so other humans more manageable...

Oh ya - the weather!  Sunday was warm/humid maybe 80 so not too bad with a breeze it was actually perfect.  But today - brrrr...cloudy and rainy most of the day so hppe that improves!  We're in the mountains so we were told to prepare for it so we have our sweatshirts.

Finally - we ended orientation learning more about the Foster Home we are helping out with...more to come on this!
